Church Wedding in Warrington

Melissa and Duncan married at the very start of summer 2021, as the weather was warming up and the last Covid restrictions were finally easing. Coverage started at St Oswald's Church in Winwick, near Warrington, where the bride and bridesmaids arrived in a vintage Rolls Royce.

The ceremony

The service at St Oswald's was simple and traditional, and once it was done, everyone moved outside for photographs before heading to the reception. St Oswald's is a classic church setting — traditional architecture, a proper churchyard for group shots — which suited the tone of the day perfectly.

Highlights from the day

The reception was held nearby at Alder Root Golf Course, with a relaxed, family-oriented feel throughout the afternoon. A wood-fired mobile pizza van kept everyone fed — guests and one hungry photographer included — which set a properly informal tone for the rest of the celebration.

Our approach

A day that moves between a traditional church and a relaxed golf course reception needs a photographer who can adapt without making a fuss about it. We kept the ceremony formal where it needed to be and let the reception breathe, staying out of the way while the pizza van and the sunshine did their job.
