Why We Love Photographing Weddings Close to Home

We're based in Kirkheaton, right in the heart of Huddersfield, and some of our favourite venues to photograph are just minutes from home. While we cover the whole of Yorkshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester as standard, there's something special about working at venues we know inside out — every corner, every pocket of light, and every spot for a quiet portrait away from the crowd.
Bagden Hall — one of our favourites
Bagden Hall Hotel in Denby Dale has become one of our go-to venues over the years. Set in 40 acres of parkland between Huddersfield and Wakefield, with a lake, gardens, and a charming bridge and folly, it's a place we know every corner of — including the best golden-hour spots and where the light falls in the gardens whatever the weather. Take a look at some of our Bagden Hall weddings.

The Woodman Inn, Thunder Bridge
The Woodman Inn at Thunder Bridge is genuinely a few minutes from our base — a dog-friendly country inn with its own boutique rooms, perfect for couples who want a relaxed wedding without travelling far. See our work at The Woodman Inn.

Two more local favourites
We've also had the pleasure of photographing weddings at Banney Royd Hall — a Grade I listed Arts & Crafts hall on Halifax Road — and Manor House Lindley, recently named one of the UK's top boutique hotels. Both are wonderful additions to our list of local venues, and we'd love to be back.
Why local matters
Photographing weddings close to home means we know the light, the layout, and how each venue's day tends to flow — on top of our usual natural, relaxed and unobtrusive approach to every wedding we cover.
Whether you're getting married somewhere we already know well, or a venue that's brand new to us, we'd love to hear about your plans. Take a look at our packages and prices, or check our availability for your date.
