Your questions, answered — before you even need to ask
Over 25 years and 2,500+ weddings, we've noticed that the same questions come up again and again. Couples want to know about our style, what happens if something goes wrong, how many photos they'll get, whether they can pay in instalments, and whether we'll travel to their venue. Completely understandable — hiring a wedding photographer is a big decision.
That's exactly why we put together our Wedding Photography FAQ page. It covers everything couples genuinely ask us, and we've kept the answers honest and straightforward rather than vague and corporate. Here's a quick rundown of what you'll find there.
Our style and how we work
What's our photography style?
We photograph weddings in a relaxed, natural and largely unobtrusive way — a blend of documentary storytelling and creative couple portraits. We're not big on rigid posing or directing every shot. We'd much rather capture the real moments as they happen: the laughter, the tears, the quiet in-between bits that make a day what it is. We step in for a handful of natural group shots and couple portraits, but we keep it brief and comfortable.
How long do we stay?
We don't clock-watch. Rather than working to strict hourly limits, we stay for as long as your day needs — from preparations through to the evening celebrations, depending on the package you're on. Coverage typically begins around an hour before the ceremony and runs through to after the first dance.
What if you're camera-shy?
Most of our couples say exactly that. Our relaxed, documentary approach means there's very little pressure or posing involved — we gently guide when needed and keep everything natural so you feel comfortable and look like yourselves. If you're dreading having a camera pointed at you, we'd say that's actually a good reason to book us rather than a reason not to.
What about a second photographer?
A second photographer is included in our Ultimate package and can be added to any other package for £350. It's particularly worthwhile for larger weddings or venues spread across multiple spaces — two sets of eyes means more angles, more moments, and nothing missed.
What if our photographer is ill on the day?
You're covered. We're a team of five professional photographers, so there's always a back-up available. This is one of the biggest practical advantages of booking a team rather than a sole trader — your day will be photographed whatever happens.
Your photos and how you'll receive them
How many photos will you get?
That depends on the package, but as a guide: around 300 images with the Intimate package, around 500 with our Platinum packages, and around 700 with the Ultimate (which includes a second photographer). Every image is fully edited — colour-corrected, exposure-balanced, and finished to a consistent, professional standard.
How will you receive your photos?
Via a password-protected online gallery. You can download everything in high resolution, share the gallery with family and friends, and order prints directly if you'd like. Your images are permanently backed up — you'll never lose them.
How long does delivery take?
Around four weeks — sometimes five or six during the peak summer months when we're shooting most weekends. If you need your photos sooner, our Express 7-day Delivery add-on is available for £70. The Ultimate package includes a same-evening preview, so you won't be waiting weeks to see something.
Prices, payment and booking
How much does wedding photography cost?
Our packages start at £650 for the Intimate package (4 hours, ~300 images) and go up to £1,750 for the Ultimate (full day, second photographer, album, and all the extras). Full details are on our packages and prices page.
Can you pay in instalments?
Yes — both Clearpay (4 payments) and Klarna (3 payments) are available at checkout automatically. If you'd prefer to pay everything upfront, you'll get 20% off the total. The deposit to secure your date is £200, with the balance due four weeks before your wedding.
How do you secure your date?
A £200 deposit holds your date — simple as that. Once that's in, you're booked. If your date changes, we offer a free date change (subject to availability).
Albums, extras and pre-wedding shoots
Do you offer wedding albums?
Yes. A beautiful 30×30cm layflat album with 20 pages and your choice from 16+ cover finishes is included in the Platinum Album and Ultimate packages. Albums can also be added separately from £299, or as a full bolt-on for £500 (which also includes a presentation box and USB). These are proper, heirloom-quality albums — not the kind you'd get from a high street printer.
What other extras are available?
Quite a few — including a PhotoMovie (a professionally edited highlights film set to music), a PhotoMosaic framed print, A2 canvas prints, and express delivery. Everything is listed on the packages page.
What about an engagement or pre-wedding shoot?
We offer engagement shoots for £100 — one hour at an outdoor location of your choice. It's a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day, and to get a feel for how we work. Highly recommended if you're the sort of couple who'd normally run a mile from a lens.
Where we work and venues
Which areas do you cover?
Our standard coverage area includes West, North and South Yorkshire, Lancashire, and Greater Manchester — all with no additional travel charge. We're happy to travel further afield too; just get in touch for a quote. We cover destination weddings, elopements, micro-weddings, and intimate ceremonies, not just the traditional format.
Do you know our venue?
Probably — after 2,500 weddings across Yorkshire and beyond, we've photographed at most of the main venues in the region. Even if we haven't, we always familiarise ourselves with the space beforehand. We don't just turn up and hope for the best.
About us and peace of mind
Are you insured?
Fully. We carry Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance to £3 million. Many venues require proof of this — we can provide it on request.
Are you members of any professional bodies?
Yes — we're proud members of the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) and have been recognised with a LuxLife award. We take our work seriously, and that professional accreditation reflects that.
