Wedding Photography at The Fleece Countryside Inn, Barkisland

We're regular visitors to The Fleece Countryside Inn — a lovely, compact wedding venue tucked into the Ryburn Valley near Ripponden, with views across the Calder Valley. Over the years we've photographed several weddings here, each with its own character, and it's become one of our favourite West Yorkshire venues.

Carly & Marc

Carly and Marc married on a bright winter's day, having found us through our Facebook page. We arrived while Carly was having the finishing touches put to her hair and make-up, and the day moved from a few tears during the ceremony to a relaxed drinks and canapés reception, finishing with the first dance.

Louise & Lee

Louise and Lee got in touch after finding us on Facebook. We started the day at Louise's house with her and her bridesmaids getting ready, before heading to the picturesque St Mary's Church in Luddenden for the ceremony — a spot of rain didn't dampen anyone's spirits — and then on to The Fleece for the reception.

Amy & David

Amy and David's day was all about close family and friends, on a rainy winter's afternoon that didn't dampen the fun. Like many of our couples, they didn't want a long list of posed shots, so we spent most of the day photographing quietly in the background, with just a few minutes outside in the wind and rain for portraits.

About the venue

The Fleece combines rustic charm with modern comforts — wooden beams, fairy lights, a welcoming bar, and a patio and courtyard that work well for photos whatever the season. There's also on-site accommodation, so your guests can relax and make a weekend of it.
