A Stylish Black Tie Wedding in Leeds

We recently photographed a black-tie wedding in Leeds that leaned fully into the formality of the dress code without losing any warmth on the day. The groom in a sharp tuxedo, the bride in a striking gown — the tone was set before the ceremony even began.
The styling
The reception was decorated in black, white and gold throughout, giving the whole day a consistent, considered look. Guests picked up on the theme too, which added to the sense of occasion rather than making it feel like a strict dress code being enforced.
Highlights from the day
What stood out most was how the formality never got in the way of genuine moments — heartfelt vows, an evening reception that got properly lively once the meal was done. Black-tie weddings can sometimes feel stiff on camera, but this one managed to look elegant and feel completely relaxed at the same time.

Our approach
A formally styled wedding still needs natural, unposed photography if it's going to feel like the couple's actual day rather than a fashion shoot. We worked the same way we always do — relaxed, unobtrusive, capturing the black-tie styling as a backdrop rather than the main subject.
